How a Clean House Helps Me Work Smarter as a Remote Worker
During the first week of lock-down I found myself becoming very lazy. I sometimes found it very difficult to get up from the bed. This continued into months until I got tired and started to search for remote jobs online.
My continuous search for job led me to LinkedIn where I saw an opportunity to volunteer as a content writer with YouthUp Global. This article is not to talk about how volunteering helped me became a successful content writer but I will still state that I got freelance jobs on LinkedIn barely three weeks of being active on the platform and also landed a job contract which required me to work virtually.
however, I soon found myself getting so worked up and exhausted. Even though I love the job I was doing online, I found my house becoming more disorganized and messed up. this made me unhappy and soon started to affect my job.
so, one day I decided I wasn't going to do any other thing but do a thorough cleaning of my house. I cleaned, mopped, scrubbed, washed and did virtually all there was to do. This lifted my morale to work and that day I performed much more than I have ever done since I began working remotely.
the next day, I made sure the whole house was cleaned and tidy before putting on my laptop for work. I soon discover I was doing very well and that was how I cultivated the habit of working with my house all cleaned and shiny. this has so far helped me to do more and achieve better results. you should try it too if you are struggling to work more efficiently from home.
